Phase 1 Environmental Assessment OverviewĮnvironmental Site Assessment Phase 1 is conducted based upon the standards defined by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) All Appropriate Inquiry.Ī Phase I ESA (ASTM E1527-13) is used to gather information to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions ( RECs) which may be associated with a subject property. Updates to the E1527 standard are expected to go to a first ballot this fall with a planned new standard publication in late 2020. ![]() Consistent with ASTM by-laws, the ESA Phase I Standard is now due for review and re-approval. ![]()
